RIP Avicii 1989 -2018
Yesterday, on April 20, the EDM community suffered a huge loss. We lost not only one of the most influential DJs in the history of electronic dance music but the spark that led us to EDM to what it is today. That trailblazer was none other than Avicii.
He was found dead in Muscat, Omata. He was on vacation with his friends. The cause of death has not been confirmed. And his representatives are not commenting anymore on the death of Avicii. He was 28 years old. The cause of death has not been released.
Avicii paved the way for EDM artists everywhere, collaborating with many artists such as Lenny Kravitz, Major Lazer, Flo Rida and many more. No matter what genre, music preference, everyone listened to Avicii and he paved the way for EDM as we know it. Entering the industry at only 16, he left his mark and by 2016, he retired from touring.
His reason for his retirement was acute pancreatitis, which is caused by excessive drinking. With that, what resulted was the removal of his appendix and his gallbladder.
Stockholm Tribute For Avicii
In Stockholm, many gathered to pay tribute to Tim Bergling. Twitter videos surfaced with many videos of the tribute. With his critically acclaimed song” Wake Me Up” playing for everyone to pay tribute to the producer gone too soon.
