The Infamous Question…
Ultra vs EDC Las Vegas? Looking at the scope of it, it is never easy to choose. Both Insomniac and Ultra are completely different in every aspect. From the level of production to the scale of the festival, it can be hard to choose. Which is the better festival? You tell us.
I can only tell you from my personal opinion. To be honest, both of them I hold dearest to my heart. But, not for the reasons, you think.
So many that hate on Ultra either hasn’t gone or had a bad experience there. To me, it all depends on what you take out of the festival. I fell in love with Ultra when I saw Martin Garrix perform on YouTube circa 2013. It was a goal to go and experience it for myself. Ultra is one of the places I hold dear to my heart.
It was my first festival out-of-state. I was mainly by myself but I ended up using that experience to check out sets I wanted to see verses set my crew wanted to see, which who can complain?
Yes, Ultra is a lot smaller to EDC but being able to see specific DJs and getting to them efficiently is a little more realistic.
The city of Miami has a lot going on during Ultra. Even if you don’t attend Ultra, there’s MMW with all of the parties during/after Ultra. Along with Ultra’s diverse lineup and if you’re into partying during the day and after parties at night, then this will be for you.
Overall..the weather is beautiful, the shows are amazing and you have easy access to the beach.
EDC Las Vegas
I won’t lie, EDC Las Vegas was one of a kind to me. Partying from Dusk Til Dawn was an amazing experience that will NEVER get old. EDC Las Vegas is a lot bigger than Ultra when it comes to the number of attendees.
The production is amazing, partying in the desert is one of a kind and getting lost in the mist of 444,000 people. C’mon!
Ultra has about 144,000 when EDC Las Vegas has about 440,000 in attendance. The energy and the vibes at EDC are always amazing. The entire festival is filled with loving vibes and you have access to see whoever you want.
This year, EDC Las Vegas has the camping option, which is clutch if you don’t want to wait for the shuttle. It’s going to be a once in a lifetime experience.
In Vegas, it’s one of the best cities to visit but while going to EDC Las Vegas, you can’t really enjoy Vegas that much unless you spend a whole week, which is the goal. The perks of going to Vegas are alcohol, all of your favorite DJ’s and the parties.
You should really experience both to get a real opinion on whether or not to choose Ultra or EDC Las Vegas as the festival to definitely put on your list. No matter which one is your fave festival, they are both worthy of experiencing at least once!
